Small System Solutions
For a small system with limited number of conference sites,
an MT with embedded MCU will be adequate to link multipoint
MTs and control conferences without the need of any
additional stand-alone MCU’s, as shown in Figure 1. The
initial investment therefore is limited. An MT with an
embedded MCU in the headquarters provides MCU functions for
as many as six sites, besides its own MT functions. Each
remote MT is chosen according to the application and the
size of the meeting room to link to the central MT/MCU.
The TrueSens system provides complete embedded MCU
functions, compared to the simplified embedded MCU in
traditional systems. TrueSens’ embedded MCU terminal
features a powerful access mode through dual network
interface in multiple network sections and delivers
gatekeeper, firewall/NAT traversal functions. Any conference
site, whether through Internet or VPN/Intranet access, can
be accessed directly, thus allowing quick deployment in
different network environments without the necessity of an
additional PC or server. Other features such as Continuous
Presence (CP) and mixing enable an effective multipoint
conference. The launch and management of a conference can be
operated on a remote control.

Large and Medium System Solutions
For large-/medium-sized systems, an independent
high-performance MCU can be configured in the headquarters
to achieve multipoint access and conference control. The
conference rooms at headquarters and remote branches are
equipped with MTs according to the requirements of the
sites, as shown in Figure 2.
The system provides access for several to dozens of
conference sites. Multiple meetings can be held at the same
time. A stand-alone MCU delivers key functions such as
gatekeeper and firewall/NAT traversal. Additional gatekeeper
server or proxy server is not required. This unique and
simplified architecture reduces investment costs and
improves manageability as well. The system’s powerful media
processing capability enables advanced applications
including CP, mixing and code stream adaptation, resulting
better performances in a multi-party conference.

Multi-ISP Solutions
The innovative built-in multi-ISP connection mechanism by
Kedacom flexibly allows multiple accesses through different
Internet service providers to eliminate bandwidth
bottlenecks among multiple ISP, as shown in Figure 3.
